Around March through May, two promotions were starting to
cause a little bit of talk amongst fans of many Michigan wrestlers.
Renegade Championship Wrestling and Rapid Pro Wrestling have
both promised Michigan debuts, but are these still plans still on?
Renegade Championship Wrestling (myspace.com/RCWWrestling2008)
has teased fans for weeks and weeks, slowly adding new additions to their roster. The likes of The DBA, Eric Freedom,
Xavier Justice, and Jeff King (among others) were all stated to appear in RCW.
The Last Update? - The last
thing we've all heard from RCW was that they would announce more information about where their first show would be held.
This announcement was set to be sometime in May or June, but no announcement occured.
Rapid Pro Wrestling (myspace.com/rapidp) showed up almost
out of nowhere, and boasted an interesting logo for it's Myspace picture. The picture was all shadow, but most fans
would assume by subtle hints in the picture that Frankie The Face, Jeff King, Max Morrison, and Adam Reynolds (among others)
were going to be associated with the Grand Rapids-based promotion.
The Last Update? - RPW announced
in a blog that they planned on running a show sometime in mid to late August, but as of this writing there has been no update
about that show since 28th of May when that blog was written.
Michigan has plenty of GREAT promotions for wrestling fans
to enjoy the art of professional wrestling, but will RCW and/or RPW add to them?
Hopefully we'll hear more updates in the near future.
